Filmmaker D Sathya Prakash made quite a name for himself with his debut venture, Rama Rama Re, which got him a Best Debutant Director nod at the Karnataka State Film Awards.. His next, Ondalla Eradalla, was adjudged Best Feature Film on National Integration at the National Film Awards and won the third best film at the Karnataka State Film Awards. Experimental cinema was the name of the game for him.
But then, he decided to switch things up and announced a full-fledged commercial venture with Puneeth Rajkumar, which got delayed due to the pandemic and needs some fine-tuning as far as the script is concerned.
In the meantime, Sathya Prakash tells us that he is ready to roll with another project, a commercial film laced with humour that will reunite him with his Rama Rama Re technical team. “From the cinematographer, to the editor, music directors, etc., everyone who worked on Rama Rama Re is back on board for the film, which will kick start in April. This project will also be a joint production between my banner Sathya Pictures, which is a unit involving my close friends who have associated with my cinema journey, and Manjunatha Dasegowda of Mayura Motion Pictures, who had earlier made the film Weekend. Together, under the brand Sathya & Mayura Pictures, we will present our new venture, the cast of which will be announced shortly,” explains Sathya Prakash.
